As a fellow member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am thrilled to collaborate with Highpoint to help celebrate ‘Wear It Purple’ day which takes place on the last Friday of every August. One thing I love most about the Wear it Purple organisation is that it’s completely student run, and works to support and empower young people who identify as sexually and/or gender diverse. These incredible students raise awareness for issues impacting the LGBTQIA+ community by working alongside community partners such as schools, workplaces and organisations to help provide insight and knowledge on creating safe spaces for young people who identify as part of the rainbow community – this is very important work!
What better way to celebrate the joyfully diverse and individual culture of the rainbow community, than by wearing Purple this coming
Friday 26th August to show your support for this amazing organisation.
For those who adore wearing the brightest and loudest colours, this theme is right up your alley. However, if you prefer to keep things subtle, I’ve scanned through the wonderful retailers at Highpoint this week to help suggest some ways of incorporating Purple into your outfit this ‘Wear It Purple’ day.
One of the easiest ways you could incorporate Purple into your outfit is to keep things simple with a purple Uniqlo t-shirt or perhaps just a purple accessory, like the Pride Converse sneaker styles available at
Platypus. I even found some beautiful Bvlgari and Prada sunglasses in the most delightful purple shades at
Sunglass Hut.
For those looking to turn up the dial and go full purple this Friday, look no further than
Gorman, who will always have your back when it comes to colour and graphic prints. If you are wanting to go classic but with a twist, perhaps a lilac suit from
Portmans could be your office attire on Friday. If florals are more up your alley, then
Sportsgirl and
Dotti have you covered! Don’t be afraid to branch out into the purple colour family; Lilacs, Lavender, Magenta and Eggplant shades are all welcomed and might make your choices a little easier!
If you are unable to wear Purple, perhaps you could use Purple products in your beauty routine.
Lush have the most divine scents and their packaging is appropriately on theme.
The Body Shop will also be able to cover your Purple theme needs, too!
I hope you will enjoy hunting for all things Purple this week at Highpoint and I encourage you to embrace the theme, just as you would embrace those who identify as part of the rainbow LGBTQIA+ community.
