Barbie

Mark your calendars - It might just be the biggest film of the year! The Barbie movie, dropping on July 20th is
just around the corner. For some, it may seem totally over hyped (given we’ve now been talking about this film
for the last 6 months) but for most of us - myself included - we can’t get enough of the pink pandemonium!

We’ve just updated our centre mannequins and accessory boxes for the month of July and it seemed
absolutely necessary to theme some of the outfits to celebrate the Barbie-core obsession that is taking over
mainstream fashion. Who hasn’t dropped a Barbie collaboration in the last few months? For all things pink,
keep reading on.

Many brands have partnered with Mattel to drop their own Barbie collaborations recently. The latest brand to
do so is Dotti, who have quite literally just launched their capsule range in partnership with Barbie. From
cropped pastel pink jackets to layered ruffle tulle skirts and Barbie logo tanks, they have everything you want
and more when it comes to the Barbie craze. Cotton On, Supre and Cotton On Body have also dropped some
merch which has a little more of a street edge to the range than what we can see from Dotti. Be sure to stop
past and check out the collection in full. For other streetwear infused Barbie merch (think hoodies and
sweaters) stop by Jay Jays on level 2.

For something a little more ‘presidential barbie’, try Review. Although their Highpoint store isn’t stocking their
Barbie capsule, you can still find core styles in-store that are perfectly on brand for the barbie aesthetic you’re
looking for.

If it’s sleepwear that you’re looking for, then head over to Peter Alexander on level 3 for what is probably my
favourite collaboration yet. PA have everything from pink gingham, satin twin sets, graphic Malibu barbie in
80’s aerobics gear, pink velour zip ups and even something for the Kens out there, too! As always when it
comes to Peter Alexander, the collection is camp, colourful and totally playful.

If you aren’t so keen on Barbie stamped product, yet you want to get amongst the movement, there is an
abundance of pink hued product still dropping left, right and centre! Sportsgirl have a pastel pink waistcoat
and trouser for those looking to replicate a cowboy barbie vibe. Or try Sheike for their wide range of evening
options – oh and whilst you’re there, look out for their new longline coat in baby pink. It’s perfect for these
colder days we are having.

For those who want to rep ‘totally hair’ Barbie, stop by Lovisa and Colette on level 3 for their range of
scrunchies and headbands. A simple white headband is all you need to create a subtle homage to our totally
iconic favourite toy.

Hoyts Highpoint have an advanced screening of Barbie on Wednesday 19th July at 7:00pm or Hoyts Lux at
7:30pm and 9:45pm so make sure you book soon, it’s no surprise that tickets are selling fast!

Here’s to Barbie!
